Career Highlights: 3-time AAU Track & Field All American and USATF Track & Field All American (‘07 & ‘06, '07); Long Jump National Champion 13'-4.5" (4.07M) & 8th place in the 100M at the AAU Junior Olympic National Championships 2006 In 2006, Gavin claimed his first national title, he won the primary boys (age 8) long jump at the AAU Junior Olympic National Championships. The AAU JO meet is the largest and most competitive youth meet held in the USA. Gavin also placed 8th in the nation in the 100 meters. In 2007 he jumped 14'-7" which was the top 9 yr old jump in the country for the year. 2007 (age 9): AAU Junior Olympic's lead leg of the 4x100 relay placing 6th in the country and 4th at the USATF national meet.
